Research Resource provides high quality quantitative and qualitative research services across the full spectrum of public sector organisations. We have multi-disciplinary research expertise and experience across a wide range of social policy areas. Our consultants bring a wealth of expertise in research techniques, creativity and innovation to the provision of our market and social research services.
We have particular specialisms including housing and regeneration, community consultation, public and local government services. We also have a track record of conducting successful research programmes in business innovation; employment programmes; education; utilities; transport; health; social inclusion; employee research and research with minority ethnic groups.
Housing and regeneration
We have worked extensively with housing associations and local authority landlords across Scotland. Tenant and owner satisfaction surveys are a core area of expertise and we have carried out over 60 Charter compliant customer satisfaction surveys for RSLs over the last couple of years. We also carry out ongoing customer satisfaction surveys and have carried out both qualitative and quantitative research on specific issues or services such as value for money, repairs, void and letting standards, major works, communications and participation. We have also carried out research into housing options, sheltered housing, older peoples housing needs and aspirations and with gypsy travellers.
Public and local government services
We manage Citizen’s or Public Service Panels for a number of Local Authorities. In addition, we carryout large scale, quantitative quality of life or resident satisfaction surveys on behalf of public service Partnerships. These surveys span a wide range of issues such as community safety, satisfaction with public services, health and wellbeing, transport and travel behaviour.
We have carried out research on public views of public performance reporting, employee satisfaction and to inform the implementation of new services or strategies involving families, children and young people, schools and education.
Transport and travel
We have carried out surveys on travel and transport behaviour on behalf of Transport Scotland, local government and Glasgow Centre for Population Health. Our research includes cyclist and pedestrian surveys, travel behaviour surveys, Blue Badge and Concessionary Travel Card User Surveys and surveys to monitor travel and transport behaviour and attitudes as the Queensferry Crossing is built and the road networks around that change. We have also carried out research to evaluate the impact of campaigns to encourage the use of more sustainable transport methods.
Economic research
We have extensive experience of carrying out economic research on behalf of economic consultancies, academic research organisations and economic development organisations. This research typically evaluates initiatives, strategies or programmes which involve knowledge transfer, innovation, employment and training, business support services, funding and routes into employment or training. We have also carried out a number of profiling surveys undertaken with a view to understanding the business or resident profile of a particular sector or geographical area.
